One of the most creepiest opening's I have ever seen is this. When They Cry tells the story of Keiichi Maebara. He has just recently moved to Hinamizawa Village where no more than 2000 people live. It's that small of a village as even the school only has 15 students and only 1 teacher. Keiichi even becomes quite the ladies man as he meets such girls as Rena who is the shy and quiet girl to the complete opposite Mion who messes with Keiichi a ton. Keiichi even becomes part a club which consists of Rena, Mion, Satoko, and Rika as they play such games as Old Maid and he's having a fun time indeed. That all changes though as he finds out that Hinamizawa has a dark past. It seems that during a festival they have during each year, a person dies and another goes missing during that night. Keiichi begin to suspects that his friends might be hiding more than they know and just maybe they might be involved with Hinamizawa's dark past.
I'm on to episode 4 so far and I just got to say that it's the strangest and most creepy series I have seen in a while. To think the girls who are so innocent and sweet at first could be involved or know what is going on is hard to swallow and I can't wait to find out what happens in later episodes. My fave so far is Rena as she is just so sweet and shy and then bam you see another side of her and are like WTF. I tried to not put spoilers that much for this entry since I know some prob want to see it and not get spoiled. Here are two clips from the first couple of eps. See this anime!
Yup, I am going to my first big con and it's Otakon 07. Hope to see some of you there. Me, Nos and Andrew are going to room and I'm gonna kick Nos's butt lol. Or maybe Andrew if I can hire him to do it lol. J/K or am I? :P I hope I can find some good anime swag there such as the Lunamaria DX fig that I have been trying to get forever. Or if I can find some good FS/N stuff that will suffice as well.
Just to update on what I've been doing. Let's see I'm getting anime still and trying to watch but I bought a PS3 and it's been taking most of my time or rather Final Fantasy 12 has. Still kicking some butt in Fantasy Baseball like always. Playing poker a lot, I'm addicted lol. Just wanted to let everyone know what is up.

I rarely do personal posts, but today I am 25 years of age now and I must say it feels weird. As life goes by, I never thought I would be at this age. Is this a old age, or am I still young. I'm now 5 years to 30. It just feels weird I guess. Don't know how the day is gonna go but I hope it's a good one. Maybe I'll watch some anime and just chill or go out and watch a movie or something. We shall see. Life just goes too fast I guess. I remember turning 21 in 2003 and watching Love Hina Spring Special and it just seems all like a blur. Wow, just wow. Well that's it for this post. :)
"The Truth.....The Truth.... The Truth Shall Set You Free"
Yes the truth shall set you free. Air Gear is the next anime I am talking about. It's from the creator behind Tenjho Tenge, and you know what that means. Fanservice, action, and roller skates? What? Oh wait I mean Air Trecks. Air Gear tells the story of bad ass Ikki Minami. He rules the school and his part of town, errr that is until he gets his ass handed to him by a gang of Air Treck warring thugs dubtly called Storm Riders. There are different kinds of Storm Rider gangs but we'll talk about that later. To add insult to injury, he doesn't even get the most severe beatings from them, but more from his daily life at home with the Noyamano sisters. Each of them are way different and have a different view of Ikki. You have the oldest Rika who was given the task of raising Ikki, Mikan who makes Ikki pay when he messes around, Ume who makes bizarre puppets and makes fun of Ikki, and then you have busty Ringo who looks to have a crush on Ikki but of course Ikki notices nothing. It seems though that the sisters have a secret and that is....

I'm not really a manga person per se which is why you rarely see me talk about them. If there is a anime version I am more prone to watch that instead of reading the manga. But there are some manga that I do read and try to get. Series such as Azumanga Daioh, Battle Royale, Galaxy Angel, etc.... So when I get a new series it's rare and I usually end up liking it and continue if I remember to order the future volumes. Well I made a order from TRSI, and I needed to fill it up to get to 50 dollars for the free shipping. I remember oddly being interested in a cover of a book that had been out for a while and I read the description and decided fine i'll add it and boy am I happy that I did.
Volume One was so awesome. The simple gist of the story is high school guy finds purse and phone of woman; guy takes money from said purse and gives purse back to her and then she notices the money gone. Woman forgives him, let's him go. Then time passes by and he's a senior. Woman becomes his new home room teacher, and awkward moments make each other start to hate one another, yet might also start to care about one another. It was a great read and it reminds me of Please Teacher but in both similar and bizarro ways. Of course you have the whole teacher-student situation which makes it similar and also that the teacher is hot :P. But that is really it for similarities. They fight all the time, he talks about her sexy body, grabs her boobs one time, talks down to her, she hits him, they drink together and so on and so on. It's the anti-onegai teacher but just in the sense of how they meet and interact with each other. You can see a hint of feeling with one another but they are both so hotheaded that it's really hard to see. I loved this volume so much and I look forward to future volumes. Where's Osaka when you need info on how much volumes there are? :P Oh yea also it is a Korean book so I don't know the correct tern for it. Is it manga? Let me know

Yes it's true, I am finally posting another journal entry. Yes people, don't be shocked. This entry is from the Gundam Evolve shorts. These were about 12 or 13 shorts that featured moments from the Gundam universe. Some were done in CG, while others just done by regular anime form. Some of the Evolve eps ranged from the GP 03 from Gundam 0083 engaged in a battle before Uraki pilots it, Amuro and Quess from Char's Counterattack doing a battle, and then you have this episode.
This episode deals with Mobile Fighter G Gundam and it's main character Domon Kasshu in his gundam just training on a rooftop. The way the animation and the music blend together just make this episode come together. That is, until Rain shows up and gets all pissed for him being gone for days and even suggests that he is cheating and fooling around with girls. So thus what to do, well how about Rain takes out her anger on him in a little training session. A great battle ensues as they both display some awesome fighting skills with them concluding the battle by doing each other's finger move, and guess who wins. Rain!!! Guess that shows Domon to never mess with a gal especially one that loves him. LOL.
Great short episode and the animation was great. I'll be doing more of the Evolve episodes. So look out
Just wanted to let everyone know sorry about no more blog postings the past couple of months. School was getting to me and now am on vacation for now which is great. I just recently got a DS so more gaming here I come :).
I am finally starting to see anime in terms of almost everyday. Marathoned the last 5 volumes of Gundam SEED and I am officially hooked on the SEED world. Expect a blog for the last volumes and mega spoilers indeed so watch out. I shall be getting merchandise in the next couple of months as well. Starting to get into anime figures so I got to watch out before I go overboard.

It's that time again as another anime season in Japan has come to start. This time it's the fall season and I am back on a fresh new start. Look for at least something new (hopefully :P) every week. So I decided to start off my fresh start with a look at a Halloween themed anime that just came out in October (of course :P), and that anime is called Pumpkin Scissors. Yup it's a halloween anime, oh wait IT's NOT!!! :P. What a misleading title indeed. So let's see what we got here in store with Gonzo's new anime Pumpkin Scissors.
Pumpkin Scissors backdrop is of war as there has been conflict between the Empire and the Republic of Frost and there has just been utter chaos as a result of the war for the empire, so the emperor signs a ceasefire so this war can end. Here at this point we see a man all covered in raggity clothes about how this war should have ended much sooner. Flash foward to 3 years later and there is still chaos as the Empire is in shambles for lack of food, health care and the fact that some former soldiers have rebelled and become bandits. This is where the title of Pumpkin Scissors comes in. Pumpkin Scissors are in fact a military group that is assigned to War Relief, and it so happens that they run into bandits in this episode, but they are no ordinary bandits for they are former soldiers that are armed with a tank, and they are holding hostage a town. This does not sit well with the commanding officer on the field for the Pumpkin Scissors; 2nd Lt. Alice Malvin. She is a real honorable and hyper girl who just wants to go in head first at any situation it seems like. Eventually the Scissors and the bandits meet and the bandits even fire a warning shot with their tank to show that they mean business. It's at this point the man from earlier that looked all down and out we find out who he is. His name is Roland and he is a former soldier of the Empire as well as he was a corporal. He likes the fact that War Relief has come to this city as he believes in the Empire I believe still unlike those bandits. Later on in the evening, as the two are talking suddenly villagers collapse; it seems they have been poisoned and that is when we find out just what those soldiers really are. It seems that they are a special elite group of soldiers that the Empire has been hiding. They are in fact Chemical Tactic Troopers and that warning shell they fired was in fact poison. They had the emblem 903 CTT on them and this is special in the fact that the leading Scissors officers cannot send help for Alice and her men because of the fact that these men and their unit are not supposed to exist. So the only thing Alice can do is get a antidote that the men have and Roland at first does not want to go but he is persuaded in the end.
Now here is where things get good. The scissors make a attack on the dam of the town for that is the headquarters of the CTT. They manage to distract them for that Roland and Alice get to the dam to let the water out. This is where we see a hint of a different side of Roland. You see he has a lantern that he keeps on his pants and he turns it on and this blue light comes out and he manages to turn the valve for the dam while Alice goes to get the antidote. The CTT leader now sees the plan and he gets in the tank and starts to move. Then it's the big battle as it's Roland against the Tank. With this blue light it's as if Roland is another man as his eyes are stone cold, and he looks like he has no regard for human life. The CTT leader then finds out what he is as he sees the phrase 901 ATT on Roland's lantern. Roland is a anti tank trooper and they are known for not caring about life as long as the job gets done, and there is a great example of this as the tank even fires a round of acid at Roland and he doesn't even flinch but he does get a little melted. The tank leader is now in trouble as Roland has disposed of his two lead men. The final sleeve is that he has the antidote and will drop it if Roland gets any closer and that is when Alice chops the hand of the leader and gets the antidote. Roland then finishes him for good with a gunshot to the heart and the tank falls off a cliff. The episode ends with the town being okay, and Roland joining the Pumpkin Scissors it looks like.
I must really say that this episode was very entertaining. I am sure we will see a romance or a friendship kindle with Roland and Alice and also I am sure this will not be the last of the former soldiers becoming bandits and fighting our heroes story. It was a good solid first episode as it had some humor (such as the dog biting the head of the leader of the Scissors), some violence, some tragedy (the war) and it had Roland who is just a abosolte softy badass. He's like Abel from Trinity Blood, nice one minute then the next he a killing machine. Don't mess with Roland when that light is on because you won't be alive. I enjoyed this first episode and I can't wait for the next. Hope ya liked my first write up in about a year. It was long but I had to say this much for the first ep. Hopefully the next ones are more of a summary type of write up. THanks everyone. JT
Yup I have decided to come back and blog woo hoo (not that anyone cares :(() Well I am gonna blog some of the newest series to come out in October and I am at least gonna do 009-1, Pumpkin Scissors (look for it tomorrow or Thursday :)), and maybe Super Robot Taisen OG. So I'm back people this time and I hope to at least have something new every week. Still going to school, and I now have a PSP and have been playing tons of games on that. Still addicted to poker and fantasy games but I can squeeze some time for anime :)
